About
Sandra Kunz
Hello I'm Sandra Kunz and I'm an Okanagan Musical Artist located in beautiful Penticton British Columbia. I moved here from Alberta in 2020 and I'm so happy that I did. I have always loved to sing and took up the guitar to support my singing habit. I have been singing since I was little and then graduated on to choral music and I have always played an instrument or two but I always had a longing to sing my own music and share my voice.
I prefer music of a simpler kind… folk music and old-time country make my heart sing so that is the way my songwriting goes most of the time. I took some time off from my guitar but something in the beauty of the lakes and mountains of the Okanagan inspired me to pick it back up again, and I am grateful to be embraced here like I have come home.
I am located in Penticton and I am available to play anywhere in the Okanagan and possibly further. Let's talk! If you are looking to book a local Okanagan Musical Artist please fill out my contact form below and i will get right back to you.

She's A Mountain
Written and performed by Sandra Kunz Okanagan Musical Artist.
I love the mountains here in the Okanagan. I love the feeling of strength and sovereignty that I can tune into. The feeling of the mountains are exactly the opposite toplaying small which I needed to decide I couldn't be anymore if I was going to finally be a musical performer. Playing small doesn't workfor anyone's life in my opinion.
Here's to not playing small..
Light in the Cracks
Written and performed by Sandra Kunz Okanagan Musical Artist.
I wrote this song as a tribute to my journey in music and overcoming my fear in being a musician and the beliefs that I needed to stay small to survive in this world. "In the black are the cracks in the surface of the fortress around her heart" refers to the Leonard Cohen song Anthem that says "There is a crack in everything. That's where the light gets in." I believe there is always a way where the light gets in, in every situation. You have to let. And the calm is in the balance of the ying yang which is the Tao, the middle road. There is always some light in the dark and some dark in the light.
The Waitin' is Over
Written and performed by Sandra Kunz Okanagan Musical Artist.
I wrote this song for my Mom and I feel the longing for the dreams my Mom needed to sacrifice in the name of security and survival. My Mom was 10 years old when the second world war started and she and her family were forced off of their farm and out of their home. She moved to Canada when she was 19 years old and came to live with relatives to make a new start. So brave. I travelled to Germany and I could see her roots in the people and I brought a some of her deep culture into this song with the yodeling. I actually wrote this song about 15 years ago and when I picked up the guitar in 2021 I was happy that I remembered it and could revive it.
